I've wanted to try and be a little more active on the forums, and what better way to do this than try and strike up, well, a friendly conversation?
So I've seen a lot of discussion on this in other places, but I wasn't able to find a proper thread here. So I thought I'd ask here - what's your favorite armor set? It doesn't need to be for any specific reason, it could give you the best buffs, or simply just look cool. If you have several, that's fine as well. I just really wanna hear people's opinions on this
For me, I'll have to say that either Hallowed or Adamantite armor are my favorites. Adamantite is a really pretty shade of red and arguably my favorite ore in the game overall, not to mention the armor just looks kickass. I couldn't really care that it has a "worse" set bonus, I'll usually go out of my way to get Adamantite when I can. And Hallowed armor is not only really pretty and has a nice set bonus, but I love how it's a nice nod to Cecil Harvey from Final Fantasy IV (a game that means a lot to me, especially after getting much more involved with Terraria).

Frost Armor! It's blue, looks very cool, and is very effective throughout a vast portion of the game! The frostburn is handy for lighting up dark places (especially with Light Discs), and of course contributes to my debuff-stacking strategy. I'm post-Golem on one of my Master Mode playthroughs, and I've still been using Frost Armor.

I’m a big fan of shadow armor, orichalcum armor (with the mask), fossil armor, and molten armor when it comes to looks. And I also like hallowed armor.

It's only one piece instead of a set, but I'd say the Flinx Fur Coat. It gives Summoners something before bosses and looks really nice. It might as well count as a Summoner set if you ask me because Summon Armor is used for more Summons.
My second pick is Frost Armor. It gives a good alternate to Adamant or Titanium and something about a multi class armor is neat. The Forbidden Armor looks cooler, but Adamant or Titanium Armor for Magic and Spider Armor for Summon seem better if you want to focus on one class.

There are several previous favorite armor threads. However, many of them are from 2017 or older and were platform specific for discussion.
Since the game has changed a lot since then and updates such as 1.4 and 1.4.4 have brought new armor to discuss, we have instead decided to make this a hot topic thread for discussing one's favorite armor.
All previous threads on this topic have been archived in favor of this one.
For my favorite armor, has to be the Frost Armor. It's one of the few hybrid armors supporting both melee and ranged weapons, and I love the ice aesthetic to it.

It seems a lot of people like frost armor, and honestly I was going to say it as well (but I thought 2 was too much as it was lol). It's actually such a challenge to say what my favorite armor is - I guess that goes to show how well-designed the armor in this game is.Frost Armor! My favorite has always been Titanium armor. It was really cool back when it had the Shadow Dodge set bonus and it's still really cool with the Crystal Barrier set bonus. The mint green, purple, and gunmetal gray color palette is also super unique and the Titanium Mask looks so sick.
I also have to mention Chlorophyte armor with its underappreciated Crystal Leaf set bonus. More people need to give it a chance and use it.

Robe + Wizard hat. 2 piece armor sets are heavily underutilized and I think there should be more of them. Plus I think the gem robes and magic in general are really cool

I personally think Titanium is pretty cool-looking, though for some reason I've never made it my priority to get in a world - perhaps that's my bias for Adamantite speaking, haha.My favorite has always been Titanium armor. Also people don't use chlorophyte???? I get a full set of it as soon as the mech bosses are down, I didn't know people skip over it

Spectre! Hood or helmet I do not really mind.
The helmet just adds so much spice to any weapon you use it with.
The hood on it's own is just meh, but if you use it in a multiclass build with melee/ranged weapons for primary damage and a rainbow gun/magnet sphere it can create a really fun twist to regeneration builds

Funny enough, as the mage-in-residence of my playthroughs I play with my friends often enough to prefer the hood over the mask - I don't think I've used the mask before. Keeping my friends alive (even if they sometimes don't really seem to pay attention to it) is honestly just as important to me because that could mean the difference between defeating the Moon Lord or him despawning.Spectre! But honestly, I just love how Spectre looks overall. It's so pretty and I wish Spectre bars had a more fleshed-out use.

Shroomite in terms of usage and effectiveness, I
ing love the buffs it gives to ranged weapons with corresponding headpieces, plus it’s CLOAKING ABILITY when you stand still which increases weapon damage, critical clean shots, and TTK. As for looks, definitely Beetle Armor with Shell and Gangsta’s hat with red dyed mana flower or jungle rose because it actually looks like the Bulldozer’s armor from Payday: The Heist and Payday 2! So badass! Looks best with black dye paired with a cross necklace and terraspark boots with the same black dye for that unique look! I honestly never want to use the Vortex armor because I enjoy using post-Plantera/post-Golem stuff much more than usual.

People stopped using it when Hallow armor got buffed in 1.4.Also people don't use chlorophyte???? I get a full set of it as soon as the mech bosses are down, I didn't know people skip over it![]()

It's a real shame because its new laser attack is really good at crowd control and it can be easily upgraded into Turtle/Shroomite/Spectre armor using Shimmer decrafting.

Maaaan, that sucks. I always use it, especially since it's just flat out stronger defense-wise than hallowed (and I already get hallowed armor after one mech boss anyway, an upgrade then is finePeople stopped using it when Hallow armor got buffed in 1.4.

Cobalt armor. It's a fast, nice upgrade to your old pre-hardmode armor, is easy to get, and the speed boost helps you to dodge attacks! If you need speed for a mech (twins/skele prime in particular), its your key. It also looks nice and i really like cobalt

Shroomite, it just looks really cool. Maybe the set bonus of invisibility is really situational but I still love it
Titanium Armor, with the helmet.
It looks sick as hell and the set bonus (Pre and Post 1.4 changes) is cracked.
It also provides a massive chunk of defence that's very good for early hardmode, considering how easy it is to get.
If not titanium then I'd have to say vortex, that set is *chefs kiss* super gut.
