Would this thread be acceptable?

A while back, me and @tornado1234 🪓 discussed in a profile post the idea of a thread that functions like this:

The OP types out a certain challenge to complete in Terraria
The next person posts a screenshot showing that they completed a challenge
That person then proposes another challenge for the next person to complete

But we realised that this very well be too similar to the Off-Topic section's Forum Games. If it is too close to one, then the thread could be closed because of it, as has happened before with off-topic threads too similar to forum games. But the reason we think it might not be considered one is mainly that it wouldn't be in the forum games section, even if it were open, because the forum games section is in the off-topic section, but this thread wouldn't be off topic and is entirely related to Terraria. There have also been some other forum-game-esc threads previously such as the Pass the World game a while back. We thought that that might be enough to have it not be considered too similar to a forum game. But we weren't sure about that, so I thought I would ask about it here first before actually considering making it.

TL;DR - Is the idea of a thread where people propose challenges for another to complete, then that person proposing another challenge too forum-game-esc?

Personally, I think that it would be classified as a forum game. But either way, I would love to partake in this

That's a good point. I had actually thought of that point before making this thread, but I forgot. I will edit this info into the OP, thanks for bringing this up!

Overall, the format is close to a Forum game. But it does sound a neat way to create some good discussion that is also related to Terraria. I'm not opposed to it considering it is Terraria-related.

The thread can't just be posting pictures of the challenge. There'd need to be discussion in the thread and have it be fine for people to comment on the challenge even if they don't want to participate themselves. As long as it generates discussion, I'll be on-board with approving it.

I can't give the greenlight on it at this time, but I'll bring this up with the other staff as well and see if we can allow for a thread like this. We'll get back at a later point.

Thanks! I will start coming up with ways to have more discussion on there than just a screenshot because I see now that the difference between the original idea and the Pass the World thing is that on Pass the World, people were actively discussing what was going on in the world. I guess the thread could be something like that if it is allowed.

Yes, that would be far too easy to fake, and there wouldn’t be enough to discuss about. I’ll mention not to make the challenge about anything like that in the OP

Ooh, how novel! This sounds like a really neat thing to do, I had a lot of fun with Pass the World, and this seems like a neat way to re-live that experience. I’ll definitely be keeping up to date on how this proceeds!
