Is the ghost set supposed to change the character?

It's posted on the wiki that the halloween ghost set makes you transparent, and drop floating rags instead of gore when you die, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Was it removed? Am I just doing something wrong? Playing on PC btw.
 
Sounds like a fun gimmick unique to an obscure set. Knowing that Terraria is full of hidden gems like that.

Though it could also be a hoax, the wiki can be edited by anyone after all. So sometimes it can be vandalised with inaccurate data.

I have not used the Ghost set myself, but if it were to myself, it sound rather too complex for just one set from a specific event. So it sounds unlikely to me.
 
I know it at least used to be a thing, I've seen it myself. But when I tried it recently, it's just the vanity set, no special effects whatsoever.

That's a confirmation I missed out on, my apologies for that.

It could've been removed accidently (code cleanup/optimisations and such), or it could be intentionally for a reason I don't know.

You might want to move it to bug reports if you believe it was unintentional.
