These are two images of my character, kajika. I didn't draw them but I commissioned and paid the artists. I hope that counts.

Edit: added an image I drew of him myself. I couldn't draw the tails well so I ended up giving up.

The Fallen Wisp

Once years and years ago there was once a knight whose name was Axel. He was the most nobel knight in the kingdom, he was tasked to protect the king at all costs no one could get past him. But there was something………..unusual about Axel. He had a gift of fire, blue flame to be exact. On a stormy night the king had ordered Axel to go home and rest at once so he did so. In the night he heard a loud bang and heard something hit the floor he went to investigate. There was nothing weird he thought to himself but just as he was about to doze off to sleep he thought “ The CASTLE” he rushed into the castle breaking down the door the king was dead. The murderer never found Axel was outcast from society and he was never to be seen near the castle again. On a foggy night word got out he was back in town the townspeople were rioting with fire and pitchforks. He wanted revenge on the people who casted him out. One by one he took them out until it was only him. He sat in the king's chair feeling a sense of victory. But he felt a presence un like any other he was scared he was confused. It was the king he had stripped him of his physical body and the new citizens who inhabited the kingdom reported a skull with armor floating around the town and by the throne room.

@tomettuce I wouldn't suggest anything "more" animated than normal in-game items. For example, the King Slime helmet animates when you move, but aside from the player moving, most armors do not have much animation to them. There are a few exceptions, but keeping it reasonable is ideal.

Can the vanity set have any particle effects? like Tims robes has the effect that appears when walking can we have that with our armour?

We will be able to discuss that sort of thing for winners, but I would not rely on it being a critical part of the submission, especially "brand new" effects. Reusing old particle effects might be considered.

I just want to know before i submit, the artwork i have has a traced pose for the sake of having a reference, but besides that, the character is 100% unique. Is it fine to submit it? I don't want to break a rule.

- Drew it in Adobe Animate.

Design Features:
- A helmet that resembles an ant, the helmet is yellowish-orange
- A chestplate and leggings that are dark-gray (with a slight hint of purple)
- Leggings that are dark-gray and purplish.
- The chestplate has a purple spiky design pattern
- Gloves and boots are the same color as the helmet
- The helmet has eye slots (which are a light-grayish blue)
- Has a "speaking slot" which is a darker blue than the eye slots.

"Micidae Knight" - Sworn to protect their queen (who is fond of ants) this knight is a very furious fighter and will go to any length to make sure the queen is safe.

"Micidae" was taken from the ants scientific name which is Formicidae (at least according to google)

The hat would be just the top of the cone, and the legs would be the middle and the bottom combined, like the drop from the The One They Call Tim.

Hey, the vanity set i want to design is based on a certain japanese cartoon from the 90s, are reference based sets completely off limits or are they allowed as long as they don't look exactly like the source material?
If so, would color changes be enough to make it submitable? thanks

in my opinion terraria needs a vanity set that hides your armor, and lets you enjoy the goodness that is yourself

it's always annoyed me to have been customizing a character for a while only to realize 5 min later that i'll never really see it again cause it gets covered up.

Greetings Terrarians!

The development team at Re-Logic were having a chat the other day about just how creative the Terraria community is - from art to music to in-game creations, you all are simply amazing. That got us to thinking... what better way to reward that creativity in the final Journey's End update than to give all of you creative geniuses a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get your very own vanity armor design into the game itself?

That's right - we are giving everyone a chance to submit their own original ideas for Terraria Vanity Armor/Outfits (Head/Torso/Legs), and the winners will see their ideas make it into the game for the Journey's End update! This is your chance to design your own brand new vanity outfit that you'd like to see added to the game! This is sort of like finding that golden ticket and getting to visit the chocolate factory, except there is no tour and no lifetime supply of chocolate... only fame and glory and bragging rights forever listed in one of the best video games ever crafted.


As you might imagine, there are some rules and guidelines and such that are important for you to follow - however, inside of these guidelines, have at it! Anything your minds can dream up, we want to hear about it!

HOW WILL THE WINNERS BE SELECTED?

• The Re-Logic team will select a list of finalists from all of the entries that are submitted by 11:59pm Eastern on April 13, 2020. If this thread is locked, you are too late!
• We will reveal the finalists on the Weekly Stream later that week (April 17th) , and then we will post them here after the stream.
• These finalists will be submitted for a community vote across all of our community platforms (TCF, Social Media, Discord, etc) - voting will commence after the reveal steam and conclude in one week, on April 24th. Voting instructions will be provided at that time.
• There will be no more than three (3) winning entries.

HECK YEAH, I WON! NOW WHAT?

• Re-Logic will directly contact the winners so that we can begin the process of adding your design into the game.
• Please note that some creative license in regards to the interpretation on behalf of our artists is expected - so be flexible. (don't worry, we will make it amazing)
• Re-Logic will have the final say on approval for the winning designs (actual art and text going in-game)
• The winner's name will be included in some way in the tooltip and/or naming for the item, so that you can always pull it up in game to brag to your buddies.
• Once we arrive on a final design, just wait for the day when Journey's End arrives and you can run around in your very own vanity creation!

LEGAL STUFF

• By participating in the contest, you agree to relinquish all rights to your vanity design to Re-Logic for inclusion into the game. Winners will be required to sign a document to that effect.
• If you are under the legal age to sign legal documents in your country (eg. Under 18 in most countries), you will need your parent or guardian to sign as well - so be sure to get that permission in advance!

I want the Titan/Dragon/Spectral/Mythical/George's sets be readded (both 1.2 scythes [scythe and soul scythe] and the icemourne were badass, plz readd those too)
