Snickerbobble
The Painter
I've tried making adventure maps before, but have found myself limited in what I wanted to make sometimes. The main intention for this suggestion is to give map makers even more possibilities, while improving on a few things as well.
Wire
As there are now other colored wrenches now, wires should have a color that don't correspond to a colored wrench type.
They could be crafted with a Copper Bar or Tin Bar at an anvil to make 12 Wires. Like the new different colored gel, they would stack with the other color. The Mechanic would sell copper colored Wire on a Copper world, and Tin colored on a Tin world.
Colored Wrenches
With 3 more colors, this would solve pretty much any wiring issues, as 3 sometimes isn't enough if you're working on something very complicated.
The Wrench would be renamed to the Red Wrench.
All wrenches are sold by the Mechanic
Wire Cutter
For the same reason with the Wire color change, the Wire Cutter would now be black.
Once you hold click to start cutting a certain color of wire, the Wire Cutter would only cut that color, making it easier to remove one wire type if your wires overlap each other, instead of cutting through all the wires instantly. To cut a different color, you would have to click on that type to remove it.
Wireless Transmitter and Reciever
These are helpful with long distance wiring, allowing you to send signals across a map without the tedium of placing wires all the way across. The signal is stopped by all blocks but angled glass.
To complete a connection, the Wireless Transmitter signal must reach a Wireless Receiver. The signal is only visible when you have a wiring device selected.
Right click to angle the signal. Places as inactive and must be turned on with a switch or other device to activate.
The transmitter signal will pass through receivers, allowing for many instant connections.
With the use of actuators, certain signals can be cut off when wanted.
Angled glass blocks will redirect a signal, allowing to cut off signals within a series of receivers.
Timers and the Deactivator
Using the alternate ore watches could allow for different timers. See here for more info
Actuators
Different actuators with different effects. All sold by the Mechanic. Check out a few of @Daimera's right here!
Yellow Actuator
Turns blocks dark and allows anything to pass through.
Red Actuator
Allows anything to pass through without turning dark. Displays in front of things rather than behind.
Cyan Actuator
Allows anything to pass through without turning dark. Displays behind things. Good for building without having tiles too dark.
Green Actuator
Causes blocks to become indestructable.
White Actuator
Turns blocks invisible, but stays solid even when invisible.
Blue Actuator
Turns blocks invisible and pass throughable. Great for animations, like a series of blocks used to make it look like a draw bridge is opening up. Invisible block will appear transparent when holding a wired device.
Motion Sensors
They behave like pressure plates, but are placed on walls. This allows for mechanisms to take effect when something passes through in the air without needing to be on the ground.
Yellow Motion Sensor
Anything that passes through will send a signal, even dropped items and projectiles.
Red Motion Sensor
Only enemies will send signals.
Blue Motion Sensor
Only players will send signals.
Green Motion Sensor
Only items and projectiles will send signals.
Spectral Paint
Crafted with a White Paint and an Ectoplasm
Painted tiles will appear transparent. Works on color painted tiles as well.
Shroomite Paint
Crafted with 10 White Paint and a Shroomite Bar
Painted tiles will appear invisible. Great to use to hide pressure plates and motion sensors.
Red and Blue Magnets
Sold by the Cyborg
Red magnets will attract items, enemies, and players when activated. Blue magnets repel.
Waterfalls
This would require a change in how waterfalls function, but flowing water could make for some excellent conveyor belts.
Fluorescent Light Beams
Placing lenses on Gemspark Blocks for some fun effects and new wiring functions. Read here for more info!
Block Booster
Crafted with a Pink Gel and a Wire
Using Block Boosters will allow blocks to move. Place one on a block and flip a switch to watch it move in a direction at one block per second. Block will continue to move until it comes across another block booster in which it would adjust to. Moving blocks that collide with another block, a Block Stopper, or the world border will stop moving. The Block Booster itself will remain on the same tile as the block moves away from it.
Stacked Block Boosters
Placing more Block Boosters upon the same tile will increase it's boosting powers to another block per second per Block Booster placed. Max speed is 10 blocks per second. They can also be angled in eight directions: up, down, left, right, and the four diagonals.
Block Stopper
Crafted with a Honey Block and a Wire
Moving blocks from Block Boosters will pause when passing this tile. Block Boosters can also be placed with Block Stoppers, causing moving blocks to stop moving, and to continue moving when activated by a signal.
Glue
Crafted with Gel and Clay Block (for red), Honey Block (for yellow), Cactus (for green), Ice (for blue), or Pink Gel (for purple).
Placing glue on blocks will join blocks together in groups. When any block in a group is effected by a Block Booster, the entire group moves with it.
Some blocks not yet glued.
The same blocks with red and yellow glue on them, along with Block Boosters. They will remain stationary until activated. Glue is only visible when holding a wired device or glue item.
The two glued groups moving. The red group is moving to the left, and the yellow group is moving upwards, even though the Block Booster is only on one tile of each group. Without the use of glue, only those two blocks would have moved.
The main purpose of glued groups are when the moving groups adjust to new Block Boosters they come across.
Glue Remover
Crafted with Bottled Water and Jungle Spores
Removes glue from a block.
This has been quite a head ache trying to figure things out! Anyway, what do you think?
