We can hope that they work on it before 1.41.3.5 just released on Switch (well, it released yesterday).
If I'm not mistaking, splitscreen is going to be the next focus for devs, now.
I had also purchased Terraria on switch day one way back when for the sole purpose of local multiplayer with my friends.
Myself and three other had spent countless night loving couch co op Terraria on my Wii U copy however since my Wii U is now only ever used for Netflix myself and close ones were really looking forward to playing it multiplayer on switch.
I have played the game on my switch for less that an hour since and it has been just about 11 months since release. How unfortunate.
I do hope couch co op gets implemented to this version soon so my close ones and I can actually get some use out of the version.
In fact, the Switch is closer to a Wii U than a Xbox One, or a PS4. It barely meets the minimum requirements for Terraria 1.3. So, I'm not surprised that splitscreen is an issue.I heard that multiplayer is their top priority since 1.4, and is taking a while due to low FPS on multiplayer. Makes sense, as the switch isn’t nearly as powerful as the Xbox One or PC.
Now that Journey's End is out, they can focus a little more on working on split-screen.Hey has anyone found any new information on this topic?
Doesn't make much of a difference, Re-Logic doesn't work on Terraria Consoles, and Pipeworks Studio didn't work on Journey's End. It's 2 completely separate teams. Now that Journey's End is out, they can focus a little more on working on split-screen.
I didn’t know, I was just paraphrasing what Loki had said. Now that Journey's End is out, they can focus a little more on working on split-screen.
I think that split-screen is actually done and they are just waiting for review, but I could be wrong.I don't mean to complain but...what's taking so long?
Based on the Terraria State of the Game - June 2020 it’s not up to the standards for them to release. It was addressed a bit more than previous months, you can read more info at the link (scroll down to the Switch section).I think that split-screen is actually done and they are just waiting for review, but I could be wrong.
I assume that split-screen will be out sometime in June, so that means it will probably be closer to July.
I'd assume late may because 1.4 is supposed to be out for PC at that time but it would make sense if they wanted to work on console 1.4 first
I can't blame youPeople do age... and im sure half the people that would be playing your game from the start aernt even playing it due to not having split screen option. Its been a year and the game is overpriced not to have split screen. Like wth?? U need a year of testing split screen? Or u just left us in the dust?
Sad thing is you arent even right its gonna be even laterLooks like I was right, unfortunately.
Pretty sure the switch has the same power as a xbox 1 when docked handheld would be the only issue they would run intoIn fact, the Switch is closer to a Wii U than a Xbox One, or a PS4. It barely meets the minimum requirements for Terraria 1.3. So, I'm not surprised that splitscreen is an issue.
I'm still curious as to why they released the game without splitscreen, or local multiplayer between Switch systems, though.
Well, no, it doesn't work that way.Pretty sure the switch has the same power as a xbox 1 when docked handheld would be the only issue they would run into
