Terraria State of the Game - November 2024

Same, although personally I think Ocram and Lepus needs to come back personally, cause I miss them and though theyre from the old Legacy Console/Mobile, its kinda sad to leave em behind in the dust, even if theyre just optional bosses.

Redigit actually dislikes the old-gen content iirc, but if it makes you feel any better, there's a mod on PC called Consolaria that adds reworked versions of it to the game

Also I'm not sure whether they could even have them if they wanted to, since they were originally created by a different studio that they're no longer working with, so there may be intellectual property right shenanigans going on.

Oh right, theres that too, I kinda forgot, and that cause problems with itellectual property rights, and I do know of Consolaria, I was just saying that cause I never got to fight Lepus and Ocram myself, but oh well, its their game, I respect that.

It does make you thin: if they decide to develop additional PAID content…… it’s gonna be even bigger than Blood and Wine Witcher 3 DLC, which is already a whole new game advertised and priced as DLC
That is a crazy expectation  you're scaling Relogic up to a 250 to 1500 employee studio! I plead you to lower your expexations of what they are capable of, haha.

Anyway I hope that despite many individuals disappointment in not recieving an update at the "promised deadline" that they can look past it and still enjoy the game for what it currently has and will have when the update eventually lands. I think a lot of people forget that Relogic is a small team and while Terraria may be a simplistic game that doesn't make it any easier to work on than a 3D or mechanically heavy title. Content still needs to be made and correctly implemented without destroying what makes it "Terraria". It's easy to add several bosses in a mod but you can't do that to the base game, it's a selective process; you can't add every idea and they have to be done in a way that doesn't damage the base product.

It's also important to remember that game developers are just people and they need to eat, sleep and take time of. Just because they work on games doesn't mean they work 24/7, assume regular employment working hours with busy weeks and lax weeks - it's healthier to think about.

It's amazing that the game has been recieving free updates for as long as it has, not many games provide that level of service for a one-time purchase with no additional fees.

So about the acorn slingshot, if it just throws acorns as projectiles and plants them at where they land, doesn't that mean it would be less efficient than planting acorns by hand because acorns are really finicky about where they can grow?
I think this is a speed over efficiency thing.

And since they've added an improved fertilizer that can make super tall trees, maybe they could also add an improved fertilizer that makes saplings grow even where they normally wouldn't.

Dear Mods and Developers,

I have a question: I saw that in the bottom of the forums that there is an announcement that the forum will be tomorrow, 2024-12-02 under maintenance at 13:00 CT (19:00 UTC). How long will the maintenance presumably take?

I am thankful for your answer.

Best Christmas wishes

Glasia🌳
It shouldn't be down long, probably 10-15 minutes at the most, I would guess. Just minor, routine maintenance.
