Official TCF Forum Bug List/Reporting

Hey I am having trouble joining a server of a guy called Pedguin, I cannot seem to join, it wont pass the loading screen can you help please the IP is 192.95.54.195 with a port of 7777. Thanks!
This thread is for reporting bugs about the forum, not for seeking technical support with the game. Also it's most likely just your computer or internet connection being slow, unless the server itself is the issue. However next time, please post in the proper location. Thanks.

Some attached images are not showing in posts unless I log in. Same in 3 different browsers. Bug or feature? (Me or other people too?) e.g.1, and elsewhere on the T-MEC group, but I thought also there was an instance in the guides section, because I remember commenting on someone's new thread there...

Can you link an example post?

I did, lol "e.g.1" in your quote. It looks like this when logged out:
Chrome Legacy Window 01082015 195525.jpg

Also both images on in this thread reply, for a second example. I just want to know if non-members will be able to view content posted up correctly (I link in quite a lot).

Oops, sorry i missed that.

I can't see them either when logged out, but when looking at the forum index page, I also can't see any contents in any of the social group sections. I believe that is by design of the entire SG feature. I can only get to the T-MEC group at all by following a link such as yours.

I don't know that there is an easy fix for that, but I'll try looking.

eta: We could also say that "membership has its privileges" too, to encourage the lurkers to sign up and participate in the community.

Thanks, let me know if I should try bothering along to @Loki. I have generally pestered him previously, back when the problem was that we couldn't upload new image attachments when editing an existing thread. This issue looks very patchy to me - a couple ".png"s in a thread won't work, while ones further down do. Same issue in Ped's group, from a quick glance.

It makes me wonder if it's related to the previous fix, since I heard there's much duct tape and string involved in getting the permissions to work in the groups (particularly). If the guides section is likely to be significantly more stable and reliable then there may be the odd, bigger post I might put there instead, since I intend quite a few things as general reference resources for casual visitors from Reddit, YouTube, etc. Ta.

I think the issue is this: in the posts where the images are NOT visible to guests, the images have been attached via the "Upload a File" button; the images themselves are "in" the social group's visibility scope. For the posts where the images ARE visible to guests, the images were uploaded to an image hosting site (like imgur) and embedded as URLs with the IMG bbcode. At least, that seems to be the case for the examples you linked.

I saw nothing in the options/permissions for Social Groups that would seem to change that behavior.

If you truly want something to be visible to guests without having to make an account, then the Guides section probably is a better place.

Yeah. That does seem to be the pattern. I used that trick to get around not being able to attach more pictures to edited posts before. Time consuming for everyday use though.

Anyway, re-found the guide thread where some pictures look broken to me, even when logged in, but OP says they look fine to him: http://forums.terraria.org/index.php?threads/destroyer-platinum-farm-5-coins-terraria-night.27953/ Who's lost it here?

(BTW, does the media embedding limit, per post (of 6?) apply to Gfycat embeds too?)

What TK said is accurate. They are embedded into a location where the guest logins do not have access. Therefore the later-linked or embedded attachments are not visible. Call it a vagary of the way things work....not likely a fixable one either.

I would advise posting it to Guides - or we can move the thread for you if you want.

Cheers

I'm on mobile at the moment and no matter what I do I have to costantly log myself in even when the forum says I'm logged in and I can't do things like check my alerts edit or do anything because it keeps makeing me back out to log in even though I'm logged in

Are you visiting the site on a https connection? If you are, that's your issue, go to regular http.

I cannot make out what that image is....or is that the problem?

EDIT: NVM, it finally loaded. What theme are you using? Why is the font so massive? Is that a browser side setting?

I haven't had any issues from my mobile side (I force to desktop as well), but I'm iOS....hmmm

I had time so I looked into this (why the menu is a little right when you're zoomed in on mobile) and I think I found out why:

XenForo.js extends jQuery to add a little "coords" function that they used to get the position (left, top) and even width & height of an element. I did some exploring and ended up finding out their coords extension uses jQuery's offset function for the top & left. For some reason, the offset function will change it's output as you scroll left/right at least.

I was able to fix it by changing line 3804 (look for setMenuPosition function and its the line, not literally, right after the if statement whose condition starts with "XenForo.isRTL()") to:

Code:
proposedLeft = Math.max(0, controlLayout.left - sL + controlLayout.width - menuLayout.width);

All I did was add that little "- sL". It works fine after that as far as I can tell. (yes all the info was for the great mr @Skiphs )

You should probably report this in the appropriate Bug Reports section, then either make a trade request in the appropriate section or just fight the Golem again. This thread is for reporting bugs about the forum, not the game. Hope that helps.

Not a bug or technical issue, but I would feel funny creating a new thread for it. Reading over the Piracy & Modding rules, the official policy regarding the unobtainable items references specific examples that are now obtainable in the PC 1.3 version through legitimate gameplay. Specific examples like Dev Armor, SDMG, Gravity Globe, Steampunk Wings (which by the way look fantastic).

No biggie, but thought I'd mention it in case it can be updated when time allows.

Make sure you have your steam account set to fully public for the system to work.
