Terraria Challenges?

Hardmode challenge: you can only play on brand new hardmode worlds until you beat Moon Lord.

Speedkill challenge: you can only kill bosses in 1 tick with your current gear. You are also given the blend o matic

Mr stabby- you can only use a copper shortsword to attack.

Tree Hugger Challenge
You shall only destroy trees of Crimson/Corruption origin.
You must wear wood armor in your vanity (not crimson/corruption)
You fear the Crimson/Corruption will kill your Purity trees, so you need to use Purification Powder, barriers, or the Clentaminator when the evil gets too close.
(MEDIUM) You can only wear wood armor until EOC is defeated!
(HARD) You can only wear wood armor until EOW/BOC is defeated!
(EXTREME) You can only wear wood armor until Skeletron is defeated!
(INSANE) You can only wear wood armor until WOF is defeated!
(YRIMIR/IMPOSSIBLE) You have to wear wood armor throughout the game.

The Chunk Challenge

It's called the chunk challenge. You know the already filled in part of the map? That's a chunk. You can't leave that chunk (unless you're going up or down). You have to survive with all the materials within that chunk. However, this prevents you from beating some bosses and therefore, expanding the chunk is possible. When a boss is defeated, the chunk expands 500 blocks left or right. Or 250 blocks in both directions.

Licenses
  1. Items are only available by unlocking them with Licenses.
  2. Licenses can be acquired only by progressing the game.
  3. Licenses come in 3 flavors: Normal, Wildcard, and Trial.
    1. Normal licenses unlock specific items unconditionally. The amount of licenses needed to unlock an item is directly proportional to the item's rarity
    2. Wildcard licenses unlock a random item of a rarity matching the item stack size of the wildcard's stack. They're much cheaper than normal licenses, but you can only buy them in bulk.
    3. Trial licenses only unlock one item at a time, and for a few minutes at a time. You can buy these each for 2 gold coins.
Encumbrance
  1. Carrying items past your player's hotbar is now a burden to movement. Movement will become increasingly sluggish with more item slots in use.
  2. Jumping, attacking, grappling, or mounting in such conditions may cause your items to randomly drop.
"Nihilism" Modes
  1. Literally any sets of items, loots, or NPCs can be removed from the game, to create any form of "specialist" challenge mode imaginable (as listed in this thread). It'll even work in multiplayer.
Psycho Mode
  1. Using the above mod, just increase the spawn rate in the config settings to your liking, and let the hilarity commence.
All aforementioned mods are configurable and multiplayer compatible.

I have a challenge idea, hope its good (i think its original).
Astronaut challenge
/spoiler
After the EoW you have to obtain a cosmic car key (any way you want) and find a sky island and like in the sky. (remove CcK).
Once you get to the sky island you may only come down to collect resources, mine, fight plantera or duke fishron and collect wood.
You are not allowed to build a permanent house on the ground.
Once on the sky island you have to expand, fight bosses and move all of your NPC's up to the islands.

Craftless Challenge
You are not able to craft anything (Includes combining accesories, but doesn't include reforging items)

You don't need Drax.

Chlorophyte Ore can be skipped completely.

This kind of challenge may be a bit harsh, as you need to rely getting better weapons and armors from enemies, bosses, and fishing.
Not to mention you have to use natural walls to build npc houses.
But I don't think it's impossible.

But I don't think it's impossible.
Whenever I attempt to use natural dirt walls for npc houses, it says it’s not valid and when I try to use my hammer it doesn’t break. I don’t know what I do, I get it to break eventually and I think it has to do with me adding wood walls.

Natural wall can't be use as ncp house's wall as is, you need to break them and place them again.
And they need to be broken from the edge with hammer.

Natural dirt and grass wall drop nothing when destroyed. So you have to use natural Dungeon and underground cabin wall.

Here's another challenge,

The Spawn-at-Dawn challenge.

It's simple, everyday at 6:00 you must teleport home. if you fail to do so, you lose.
Regardless of where you are or what your doing. if you do not have Magic Mirror or Recall Potion, you must die or leave the game.

I had imagined a 'loot only' challenge:

Rules:
- start a new world without your starter tools.
- No houses are allowed.
- No NPC shopping is allowed.
- No crafting is allowed besides what you can craft by hand (no crafting stations)

Some hintlines:
- progression is mostly dependend on what you find in chests or drops from enemies.
- most of the crafting material cannot be used. So you don't have to keep them.
- You can use bombs to break the blocks that blocks your path.

As you'll discover all the limitations you have, the game's progress will vary to a sort of Metroidvania. But chest management will become tedious.
