Ask a Derpling anything.

So, rather than write out my silly headcanon of Derplings being the most advanced race, I decided it would be better if you simply asked me as a derpling about it! Of course, you can just ask me as a person something if you so prefer. There are no extra rules, just don't violate TCF's rules.

How do you organize your civilization? Is it in something like a caste, or is it different jobs seperate (As in scientists only live in science district while soldiers live in a military district or something) or is it something else?
What is the main goal of your civilization? Is it simply living an existence or are you trying to gather something or reach for some level of peace?
How do you police your civilization?
Are there any large or monumental legal documents that I should know about? Like treaties or pacts of the sort.
Is it possible for others to live in your civilization with your permission, or do you refuse all outsiders to live in your civilization?

Our civilization is organized into different jobs because different levels of strength and ability is required for them. For example, you may have encountered Assessors and Scouts, which live in the Surface Jungle and Underground biomes respectively. Assessors are weaker than other derplings in order to gather data on the combat prowess of nearby lifeforms (because you don't get much data from something that dies instantly.) and Scouts are much smaller and sacrifice their strength for stealth. They are the only types which consistently live in the same plane of existence as Terraria, but they are able to travel to other planes derplings reside in with great ease as well.

The goal of our civilization is to create a comprehensive map of the multiverse and the abilities of it's residents.

Policing our civilization isn't necessary as derpling neurostructure simply doesn't allow discord in any major form. It's how our technology developed/is developing so quickly.

The only treaty we have managed to negotiate was a truce with the Spirit of Light. We have attempted to negotiate a truce with the Spirits of Darkness and Blood, but our communication attempts seem to have failed for the most part.

We generally allow others to enter our civilization if they are able to handle the alternate physics that are found in some of the major branches. There hasn't been an example of this yet simply because suitable people haven't asked and our offers have been refused.

Our weakness is the Crimson. We have no defense against it and the Ambassadors we sent there to negotiate a treaty were mutated into piles of organs and flesh (designated "herplings"). All other weaknesses are classified information.

For those of you who are curious, the Derplings have managed to glean information about Terrarian history from mineral structure of the Terrarian Archipelago that predates even the War of Light and Dark.

The Terrarian Archipelago began as a massive continent, entirely covered by a great forest we have designated "The Primordial Jungle." The only intelligent life on it was the Dragons, which we have learned were sorted into "Shelled," "Scaled," "Feathered," "Gilled," and "Furred" tribes (evidence shows there were others, we simply haven't found enough evidence to know what they were or what became of them.)

The Shelled Tribe were distinguished by their carapace, and sacrificed their gift of flight for interdimensional travel and far greater intelligence. They became the Derplings.

The Scaled Tribe were the most commonly known variant of dragons. They sacrificed their immense physical power for isolation and something close to the human mind. Eventually, their wings atrophied and disappeared because they were never used in the narrow passages and rooms of their temples. They became the Lihzahrds.

The Feathered Tribe fled into the stratosphere during the War of Light and Dark and never returned. They have changed the least compared to the other tribes. They became known as the Wyverns.

The Gilled Tribe had a great schism between those who favored ice and those who favored water. Isolated from each other, they eventually split into two species and lost their minds, becoming the Pigrons and the Fishrons.

Edit: Unfortunately, it looks like we know what happened to the Furred Tribe now...

The Necroavirus targeted them as well as the humans, but they were even more susceptible to it. They fled down to the underworld, but not even the extreme heat could save them. They became the Bone Serpents.

are you friends with giant tortoises and hornets
Giant Tortoises are the Jungle's defense system, so we are on friendly terms with them. Hornets we have a truce with, but the war between us and moss hornets has been going on for quite some time. We would have exterminated them had they not stolen our cloning technology.

were the dragon hornets eradicated
They were, but not by us. The Dragon Hornets were almost utterly destroyed by a higher being when they were deemed as one of the Unbalanced Species. We created a refuge for the few who survived the Rebalancing Purge which also cost the lives of the dragon snatchers, arch demons, and a certain interdimensional demon. We have been able to create a thriving ecosystem for most species affected by the Rebalancing Purge in a nearby dimension safe from the higher beings, but were unable to save the most powerful ones: the beings of Blight, Eternal Life, and Ungratitude.

how is plantera and queen bee doing
The Queen Bee is fine. She generally stays in her own business though. She's more interested in taking care of her children and making honey than anything else.

Plantera has been very helpful in advising us about the herbal and magical properties of certain plants only found in the archipelago. She also was instrumental in developing the Nanoprism, which draws energy from nearby life forms without harming them. In return, we gave her a form of crystalized sunlight which allows her to photosynthesize even deep underground where she prefers to live.

What do you think of our kind? And how do you feel about Gole'ms death?

P.S, we have rebuilt Golem's left foot and left fist.

P.S, we have rebuilt Golem's left foot and left fist.
We feel a kinship with your kind, as we were one race at one point and similarly gave up our flight for intelligence. Golem was a crucial part of an incredibly complicated seal to keep the moon lord from returning, so we were distressed to hear he had been defeated.
