    Good day, everyone!

We know there is so much going on in the world of Terraria nowadays – and we hope you share our excitement around what is to come there in 2016. You will have to stay tuned on that front - we will have plenty to share in the weeks and months to come!

That said, Re-Logic has a handful of other non-Terraria projects that we have been and continue to work on. Most of those will have to remain shrouded in secrecy for now – but we wanted to share an exciting project that we have been helping to shape and design for the past several months:

The second game from our friends at Quadro Delta, Pixel Privateers builds on the hard lessons learned from Pixel Piracy along with a far closer partnership with us here at Re-Logic than with Pixel Piracy to yield a final product that is quite a bit different than its predecessor in regards to style, depth, gameplay, and fun factor – all while retaining the trademark charm of the series that everyone expects. So if you were a fan – or not – of Pixel Piracy, we would encourage you to give this one a follow and track it up to launch. ;)

For now, check out the trailer, screens, and details below – and keep a close eye on the locations below for further information and spoilers as the team presses towards a Q1/Q2 2016 launch! (We may even have some special deals in place for Pixel Piracy and/or Terraria owners when the time comes. :) )

    Steam Store Page:

Pixel Privateers is a Squad Based Tactical RPG “Loot ‘Em Up” that will send your team of mercenaries through a mysterious wormhole on a quest to gather technology for your employer. In a twist of fate, your journey becomes a one-way ticket – with an entire galaxy of worlds to explore, factions to encounter, and epic gear to collect. Will you make it back home, make your mark in this new universe, or become another victim of the many dangers of the cosmos? Ultimately, how your story plays out is up to you!

Focusing on a user-customizable experience and robust multiplayer within the framework of a deep and engaging space exploration RPG, Pixel Privateers seeks to provide a truly accessible rogue-like gaming experience that will appeal to gamers of all types and skill levels.

    • Huge Universe to Explore: Navigate your ship through the universe and land on any planet you choose! Take care, however, for many perils await you – and you could always find yourself overrun by enemies far stronger than you!
    • True Tactical, Squad-Based combat: Control your squad individually in tactical mode - where you issue orders and have them carried out - or control your squad as one - directing them all at once!
    • Accessible Gameplay: An array of difficulty settings will allow you to enjoy the game in a more casual manner – or challenge yourself in True Rogue mode where death is quite permanent!
    • Storyline and Factions: Learn the history of various factions and their place in the universe, and become part of the intrigue yourself. Where do your loyalties lie? What part will you play? See how the story unfolds!
    • Deep Skill and Tech Trees: advance your knowledge and conquer: Gain awesome new skills, abilities, and technologies as you research alien artifacts. Train and advance individual crew members by enhancing their stats and collecting better gear!
    • Interactive Ship: Tired of all that adventuring? Spend some time building up and exploring your Ship! Maybe even hang out in your own on board bar - complete with a band to entertain you!
    • Epic Loot!: Plenty of awesome gear to make you a powerhouse is out there for the taking! Not to worry, with the innovative loot highlighting system, you can choose what you want to pick up and take back to your ship. No inventory clutter here!
    • Post Launch Content!: We absolutely plan to bring free content expansions to Pixel Privateers – following in tradition set by Terraria. In fact, we have a number of plans already, and we will plan to share more specifics there post launch. The better things go, the more we can do – we want Privateers to be a title with a long life!
So that’s it for now. We know that Pixel Piracy was more of a cult title that had a mixed reaction from everyone. Having worked far more closely with the QD team this time and seeing what came out at the end, we are confident that Pixel Privateers will have broader appeal and keep a lot of folks entertained for quite some time!

I think now is the appropriate time to yell:

I must admit to having played Pixel Piracy very little. Didn't think it was bad, just couldn't really get into it.

    But this, well...

All I can say is 'get the grappling hooks'.

This is great news. Now just some 1.3.1 news would be awesome. It would also be awesome if we got news about what future updates will bring. Finally I insist on how awesome it would be for Terraria devs to publish development status on a platform like Trello like subnautica does.

-It looks like Starbound again omg!!

Guys, Starbound has pretty cool graphic for 2D game and it's not surprising that other 2D games will have something like its too.
Stop talking "looks like Starbound", please!

They really nailed the atmosphere on Privateers. I love the scenery and the UI design :dryadhappy:
It's great to see how far it has evolved from the work done in Pixel Piracy. My cheers to Quadro Delta, and have a good launch!

So we're having both Terraria Otherworld and Pixel Privateers in 2016? Mother of God...
You know how awesome that is? :D
Too bad my laptop has nowhere near good hardware to run any of those games...;(
At least I already have the original Terraria and I'm fine with it :p
