What misconceptions did you have when you started playing?

I thought wings would grant infinite flight.

Then I was gifted with Red's Wings, and got proven so wrong.

I built a (dirt) wall to stop the corruption.

(Insert Donald Trump meme here)

And then it later got hit by a meteor.-_-

I thought you could have a bunny pet back in the 1.1
Then I discovered the world restarts everytime you get out unlike Minecraft:sigh:

I thought I could get away with looting the dungeon before skeletron.

And it is said that @PeanutMusic suffered through 3 heart attacks that day!

I throught that you must kill a dungeon guardian to acess dungeon.

I thought NPCs could only live in the forest.

When I saw someone with a house in the tundra and NPCs were living there, I tried moving my Tax Collector to the underworld and my Stylist to the underground. It works. Now I know the only places NPCs can't live in are the Corruption and the Crimson.

I thought mana had no use other than bragging rights. (For getting all those stars.) I also thought that fallen stars were rare because they all fell on my skybridge which I almost never checked.

Reminds me of when I thought health potions were useless pieces of crap.

I used to think defence was all armours gave, so I would use melee armour with ranged weapons not knowing ranged armour boosted ranged damage.

Giant Worms were the most scary enemy in the game. But most likelly because of jumpscares they used to give me.

I thought 8 defence was good. Though I somehow managed to beat the WoF. THATS WHAT THE PLACEBO EFFECT CAN DO FOR YA! INVEST IN THE PLACEBO EFFECT NOW AND IT PROBABLY WONT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE YOULL HAVE FULL KNOWLEDGE OF ITS EXISTENCE!

I thought there was a creative mode but i just dont know how to make my world creative

I thought that shooting anywhere at the wall of flesh would decrease its health. Much later I figured it only gets damaged at the eyes and mouth. I have a video of when I first killed it, and as time goes on it is increasingly painful to watch

You now are legally obligated to show us this video.

I used to think that headshots with bows were the only way to get critical hits. Notice that I said bows, as I had no idea guns existed. When I actually payed attention to the Loading Screen tips, I was like "Damn, I guess the Illuminati really does exist!"

I assumed it was a melee/ranger only game (I thought magic and summoner didn't exist.)
Then I found a Wand of Sparking. I bet I said "whoa" a lot that day, but I barely remember it! It was so long ago.

wats a placebo effect.

I thought Hardmode was gonna be easy...

BUT THEN I TOOK HARDMODE TO THE KNEEEEEEEEE OHHHH SKYRIM CONFIRMED FOR XBOX 10 AND PLAYSTATION 25

Placebo effect is where for example you take a pill, you believe it'll help reduce pain, and it works despite fact the pill itself doesn't have anything that would do it.

Like when you don't realize someone's roasting you, so it doesn't offend you.

Actually, if you infect the area within their houses with evil biome, they'll live in evil biomes.
The only NPC with unique items when living in evil biom is Painter, he sells "Lightless Chasms" while in Corruption and "Deadland Comes Alive" while in Crimson.
