Did they even announce a release window for the switch version yet? We're still too far out from wondering if it's cancelled. I can't wait to play terraria out in public!

I need to get myself a Switch.

Mario + Rabbids looks good and I'm well overdue a run through of Breath of the Wild.

Just not a big fan of the price point given it's specs. Understand it's also portable but without a huge library of games and worse tech than the current consoles (which aren't great either) I've been rather hesitant.

Might bite the bullet and grab one after Christmas.

That being said, It'd be poor form.

With the older generation of consoles, it's understandable that they won't getting further support due to hardware / technical constraints.

With the current generation of consoles, they're more than capable of running the content that has been available on PC for a laughably long time.

I personally wouldn't have a hard time boycotting a developer / publisher if they refused to support a platform that they're capable of providing support for. Payday 2 devs come to mind.

Expressing disappointment over delays is understandable. Claiming the devs promised a deadline for the patch and are abusing their customers by not delivering it, or that by having to purchase the game again on a new platform meant the devs owed you the patch was what bothered me.

I don't understand how ad hominem comes into this though. No names have been mentioned. My complaint is with the reasons and justifications, not the people themselves.
 
To all the people bellyaching about the delays

Quit whining, these delays happen because the people at Re-Logic and Pipeworks Studio want to create a game that we all enjoy. They are doing it so we can be happy with their product. And don't say I don't get the frustration. I want the update to come out too, but I also want it to be amazing. In order to make it amazing, they have to work on it thoroughly. So give them some time to perfect it. Anybody with me on this one?
 
 
Throwing my two cents on the superior platform debate: I think the platform "master race" is all up to opinion. Not everyone likes the same types of games, we all have different, unique tastes. I, for example, prefer roguelikes, RPGs, and indies... So platforms supporting that would be my master race...

That said- We all love Terraria- That's why we're here, and by that process, every gaming platform would be a master race. So let's not get in platform and console superiority arguments, let's all just get along and agree we have our own preferred platforms. :dryadindifferent:

Fair enough, nice to have reasonable discussion on a forum.

The ad hom wasn't a hard push, it was light and looked like it was creeping in based on a previous post by you which made out like you encouraged users to put all users expressing negativity, both in a rational manner & irrational on ignore.

Basically came across like a generalization of anyone willing to put forth criticism as trolls. Bit of a witch hunt theme going on.

Then you made a subtle statement that made it seem like anyone with negative things to say had their life priorities wrong and should fix up.

Like I said, not the purest form of ad hom but I felt like it was getting there.

Me and you are all good man, as long as people are reasonable and rational I'm always up for a debate / discussion.

gotta admit i'm a bit envious of people who feel safe playing out in public.

where i live, you'd probably... eh, i'll avoid giving the details... but it's safer to play behind locked doors... and not go outside unless you really need to.

...do people know what "master race" means?

i'm starting to think people either forget, or don't realize the implication behind that term.

here's a hint... it has to do with a horrible group of people, and a dark age in german history.

so can we PLEASE stop using that term?!

Nobody walks around playing games... or that least they shouldn't. You use it on public transport or waiting in line at a store or bank or whatever or just chilling at a restaurant. I mean, just about anywhere, but I've never seen a guy whip out a Gameboy because the light turned red.

Did you seriously just try to get us to stop saying "muh master race" by trying to tie it to the nazis? Sorry friendo SNES master race all day. Ain't nothing better than Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars!

i'm not "trying" to tie that term to them... it IS tied to them.

also, regarding the public thing, i live in a dangerous area, just because you're in a bank or a restaurant doesn't make you safe, especially if you're holding a several hundred dollar device for all to see.

i love super mario RPG, still one of my favorites... but i don't get what that has to do with what we're talking about.

Fair enough, I probably did go a bit personal with all that. It just really bothered me to see all those negative posts for reasons I think are so unjustified. I literally don't understand their position or how anyone could think like that. It all just seems so selfish and disregards everything the devs are probably going through.
